iOS & Android App Development in Peterborough
We design and build mobile apps for iPhone and Android — and we publish our own. Shelter, MaxxLook, and Vettly Guardian are apps we built and run ourselves, so we know the whole path: design, development, App Store review, subscriptions, push notifications, and what it takes to get installs after launch day.
Proof, not promises

Built by people who publish apps
Most local agencies outsource apps or treat them as a side line. We build them every week. Shelter is a fintech app with bank connectivity and an AI coach; MaxxLook is a native iOS app with photo analysis and virtual try-on; Vettly Guardian is a parent-and-teen pair of apps on iOS and Android.
Running our own apps means we deal with the same App Store rejections, subscription edge cases, and review-score pressure you will — and we bring those lessons to your build.
Do you need an app at all?
Sometimes a fast mobile website does the job for a fraction of the cost. An app makes sense when people use it repeatedly, when you need the camera, location, notifications, or offline access, or when the app itself is the product.
We'll give you that honest call in the first conversation. If a web app is the better first step, we'll build that — and it can become a store app later without starting over.
From idea to the App Store
We start with the core journey: the one thing a user opens the app to do. We prototype it, test it with real people, then build in releases you can install on your own phone through TestFlight and Google Play testing tracks.
When it's ready, we handle store listings, screenshots, privacy disclosures, and review. After launch we track crashes, retention, and reviews, and keep shipping improvements.
Getting found after launch
Launching an app is the easy part; getting installs is harder. Because we also do app store optimization, your listing is built to rank and convert from day one — the right keywords in the title, screenshots that explain the value, and a plan for ratings.
Questions
App Development, answered.
How much does it cost to build an app?
It depends mostly on how many screens and user types it has, what it connects to (payments, bank data, maps, your existing systems), and whether it needs a custom backend. We scope the smallest useful version first and quote in phases, so you aren't committing to the whole roadmap up front.
Should we build for iPhone or Android first?
In Canada, both platforms matter for most consumer apps, so we usually build both from a shared codebase. If your audience leans heavily one way, or the app needs deep platform features, we may start with one.
How long does it take to build an app?
A focused first version is typically measured in weeks to a few months, not years. We ship installable test builds early so you see progress continuously instead of waiting for a launch date.
Will you publish the app under our company's account?
Yes. The app lives in your own Apple Developer and Google Play accounts, and you own the code and the listing.
Can you take over or update an existing app?
Yes. We start with an audit of the code, dependencies, and store status, then give you a written plan — update, refactor, or rebuild — with the trade-offs spelled out.
